Before becoming a counselor, I worked as a news anchor and reporter. That experience gave me the opportunity to meet people from many different backgrounds and hear their stories, often during difficult times. It also helped me realize that I wanted to do more than briefly tell someone’s story. I wanted to listen, build trust, and support people as they worked through what they were facing. That realization eventually led me to counseling.
We all go through challenges and difficult seasons. I believe everyone deserves a private place to talk openly, feel heard and supported, and gain practical tools for moving forward. Sometimes that means getting through a crisis. Other times, it means dealing with a difficult relationship, adjusting to a major change, or recognizing a pattern that has kept you feeling stuck.
In addition to being a Licensed Professional Counselor, my background includes higher education, curriculum development, public speaking, and training. Those experiences taught me how to explain complicated information in a way that feels clear, useful, and relevant to everyday life.
I also serve as Executive Director of Anchor International, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people affected by mental health struggles find support and belonging in their local faith communities.
